Anna-Maija Nyman

acro pole (int/adv lvl)

Description:  Dynamic tricks, flips and drops! This workshop includes Chinese pole techniques, acrobatic tricks in the air and on the floor using the pole, pole flips and rapid combinations into drops and leg hangs.

Required:  Shoulder mount.

Recommended:  You should be working on handsprings & ayeshas.

Power Spins on static (Adv Lvl)

Description:  This static pole workshop is all about power spins and learning to use momentum. We focus on spin technique, different kinds of entrances and variations of power spins and handspring tricks, transitions and re-grips.

Required:  Handsprings and ayeshas.

Recommended:  Working on phoenix.

Power Workout (Int/Adv lvl)

Description:  This hard core workout is all about pole technique and power moves! During this class there is no such thing as a “wrong side.” Half of the workshop consists of strengthening and basic pole technique exercises both on and off the pole. The remainder of the workshop is for power moves such as deadlifts, planches and handstands.

Spin Pole Tricks & Transitions (Int/Adv LVL)

Description:  Learn Anna-Maija’s signature tricks, dynamic combinations and power spins. This class consists of unique transitions, explosive tricks and graceful spinning pole combinations.

Required:  Strong inverts and leg hangs.

Recommended:  Working on aerial inverts and shoulder mounts.

Hands Down (Int LVL)

Description:  This workshop is for handstand lovers and for people who what to overcome the fear of handstands. In this workshop, we’ll work on everything related with handstands and pole, you will learn to feel comfortable creating transitions on the floor, to find your fluidity on the floor, learn dynamic and original transitions using pole. So if handstands are your thing, or if you just want to learn how to take your handstands to another level this will be one of your favorite workshops.

Required:  Strong invert and inverted crucifix.

Recommended:  Be working on floor handstands.

Spin & Fly (Int/Adv LVL)

Description:  Love the spin pole and its magical way of making us feel that we are flying? Gaby likes to incorporate unique movements and will challenge you to use the spin pole in a totally different way. Learn Gaby’s favorite transitions and how she dominates the harmony of her movements so that they look fluid and elegant without losing the spin or the control. You will experience different transitions that will accelerate or decelerate the pole, all in the creation of new sensations that will make you feel in total control of your body and spin.

Required:  Invert on spin pole and strong leg hangs.

Recommended:  Working on shoulder mounts and/or ayeshas.

Trick Factory (Int/Adv LVL)

Description:  This workshop is for those who love the beautiful pole poses on the pole. Come and learn splits, back bend tricks, twists, and all of Gaby ́s favorite tricks on the pole. You ́ll also have the opportunity to learn Gaby ́s Dandelion signature Split.

Required:  Strong inverts and leg hangs.

Recommended:  Working on shoulder mounts and/or ayeshas.


Miss Filly

Signature Tricks on Spin Pole (Int/Adv LVL)

Description:  Students of this workshop will learn how to build impressive, beautiful and powerful inverted sequences and learn a few of Filly’s favorite and signature tricks and combos. Learn how to condition your body to get the most out of your strength and flexibility while having fun upside down! Also get down and dirty with some floor work sequences that will not only get you from A to B, but will show off fluidity, grace and strength. This workshop will explore dancing with bare feet as well as the technique required for dancing in stilettos, showing you how to get the most out of both styles.

Required:  Strong invert and leg hangs.

Recommended:  Working on shoulder mounts and/or ayeshas. Heels optional.

Signature Static Dynamic (Int/Adv)

Description:  Learn how to master dynamic movement on static pole through spins and grip changes and inverts. Explore different ways to move around the pole in sequences designed to help you find your strength and style. This workshop will explore dancing with bare feet as well as the technique required for dancing in stilettos, showing you how to get the most out of both styles.

Required:  Strong invert and leg hangs.

Floorgasm (open lvl)

Description:  Link a whole sequence of floor work together to create a whole routine based on the floor using strength, flexibility and acrobatic skill. Learn dynamic ways to move between pole or up and down from the floor while you roll, twist and flip through this workshop. This is a non-pole workshop.

Required:  Knee pads.

Recommended:  Comfortable doing forward rolls or shoulder rolls.

Exotica (Open Lvl)

Description:  Get slinky, sexy and work on musicality while learning a full choreographed routine in this workshop! Learn Miss Filly’s signature style while sweating up a storm in this dance workshop for all levels. FOR RETREAT PASS HOLDERS ONLY: The last 30 minutes are just for you! We will run the routine in different groups and Light&Pole will produce a music video cut for you to keep and share. Costume info will be provided.

Required:  Heels and knee pads.

Recommended:  Have tried dancing in heels before.

Drop It Like It’s Hot (Int/Adv Lvl)

Description: This workshop is not for the faint hearted! Unleash the daredevil in you and learn a whole range of different drop combos and spins, both from amazing aerial heights and from the floor. This workshop will help you gain the confidence you need to become a strong aerial performer with the skills to wow your audience!

Required:  Strong invert and leg hangs.

Recommended:  Ball drop.

Alternative Inversions (Int LVL)

Description:  Are aerial inverts a problem for you? If so, this workshop is for you. Learn creative ways to get upside down on the pole without the standard aerial straddle invert. You will no longer have to stay upright or grounded. This workshop is also great for those with strong aerial inverts who are looking for alternative and creative entrances into your tricks. Climb the pole, sneak yourself inverted and show ‘em whatcha got in Alternative Inversions with Phoenix.

Get Your Flexy On (open LVL)

Description:  Learn techniques to incorporate into your existing flexibility routine. Including new ways to stretch, what you should be stretching, correct alignment while stretching, and ways to incorporate your flexibility into your pole and floor work.

Required:  None.

Signature Tricks, Transitions & Combos (Int/Adv LVL)

Description:  Is "Titanic" on your list of pole moves to accomplish? Phoenix Kazree's Signature Tricks and Transitions is where you will learn all four versions of it. Along with floor to pole transitions, more signature tricks, creative ways to enter and exit classic tricks, and so much more.
